Diffuse effacement of foot processes with actin accumulation can be seen. Note the focus of detachment (arrowheads). Mesangium and endothelial cells show no apparent abnormalities. B, Area of segmental sclerosis. Extensive denudation of glomerular basement membrane on the collapsed tuft can be seen. Note tuft adhesion with thickening of the basement membrane in Bowman’s capsule. C, A focus of adhesion.
