From: Immortal Activated Human Hepatic Stellate Cells Generated by Ectopic Telomerase Expression

Primary human hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) show the characteristic vitamin A fluorescence. Human HSCs were isolated and cultured for 7 days on uncoated plastic dishes. Cells are spread out and contain lipid droplets in the perinuclear zone under phase microscopy (left panel; original magnification, × 200). Fluorescence microscopy demonstrates the fluorescence of vitamin A (right panel; original magnification, × 200).
