A, Expression of PcG genes in the heart during development. Total cellular RNAs were extracted from the heart and quantitative RT-PCR analysis was performed by using the oligonucleotide primers described in “Materials and Methods.” Fourfold serial dilutions of cDNAs were used as templates for PCR amplification. Note that rae28 expression was high in the early embryonic stage but markedly decreased in the later stages. These findings were confirmed by experiments in triplicate. B, Expression profile of PcG in the heart. The RT-PCR data shown in (A) were used for this schematic representation of the oscillations of PcG expression.
