From: Effects and Regulation of Connective Tissue Growth Factor on Hepatic Stellate Cells
Effect of CTGF on the proliferation of HSC. HSC were incubated in the presence of rCTGF (0, 10, 50, and 100 ng/ml) for 16 hours. Cells were labeled with 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine technique (BrdU) for 30 minutes. The number of positive BrdU cells was calculated in 10 random fields at a magnification of × 400 and normalized to the control condition (no CTGF). Data are expressed as means ± sd of three independent experiments. (* p < 0.05 compared with the control condition).
