Inhibition of the TNF-α antiapoptotic effect by phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI-3K) inhibition. A, LY 294002 effect on TNF-α cytoprotective effect. Chondrocytes were cultured in DMEM supplemented with 2% FCS and pretreated or not with LY 294002 (10 μm) for 1 hour before TNF-α (10 ng/ml) treatment for 24 hours. SNP (0.5 mm) was then added for an additional 24 hours.
