T. cruzi infection modulates the migration/maturation step of sDC in nontreated and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated infected mice. Spleens were harvested from noninfected mice (a) and from infected mice at Days 14 (b) or 21 (c) pi. In each group, other mice were intravenously injected with LPS 6 hours before death (d to f). Sections were prepared, and sDC were stained in red using an anti-CD11c mAb. B7.2+ cells were stained in blue. B7.2+CD11c+ sDC appear in purple. Representative data from one of two independent experiments are shown. Scale bar = 250 μm.
