From: Overexpression of caspase-3 in hepatocellular carcinomas
Western blot analysis of caspase-3 protein expression in (a) human hepatocellular and colon cancer cell lines, and (b) HCC and adjoining liver tissue from patients with HCC. Cell lysates were prepared from the cell lines and subjected to PAGE (15%) and blotted to nylon membrane. All HCC cell lines Hep 3B, PLC-5, SK-Hep 1, and HepG2 overexpress caspase-3 compared to colon carcinoma cell line SW-480. Similarly, HCC samples 1T, 2T, and 4T overexpress caspase-3 compared to non-neoplastic liver samples N1–5 or HCC sample 3T.
