From: Keratin expression in schwannoma; a study of 115 retroperitoneal and 22 peripheral schwannomas
In all, 90% of the retroperitoneal and 14% of the peripheral schwannomas were positive for GFAP (1–4+) by immunohistochemistry (retroperitoneal schwannoma, (a)). Detection of GFAP proteins by Western blot demonstrates expression of GFAP in a retroperitoneal schwannoma, and brain tissue but not in the placenta or skin lysates. The position of molecular mass markers, are shown at the left (b).
