Iron free focus in hereditary hemochromatosis. The hepatocytes on the right side of the field contain almost no iron, in contrast to those on the left side of the field, suggesting the ‘iron free’ hepatcytes represent a recent-onset clone. Note that Kupffer cells contain some iron within the iron free focus.
