Case 3 demonstrates identical patterns of allelic loss on chromosome 1p for the primary lesion and its corresponding epidermotropic metastatic melanoma (a). Case 4 at chromosome 9p shows epidermotropic metastatic melanomas that appear related to each other, but clonally not related to the primary melanoma (b). Case 8 demonstrates clonal relationship with inactivation of the X-chromosome in both the primary and metastatic lesion (c).
