RT-PCR analysis of pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma polygonal and surface cuboidal cells. Surface cuboidal cells (C) strongly expressed cytokeratin, epithelial membrane antigen, surfactant protein B, and Thyroid transcription factor-1 mRNA. Polygonal cells (P) in stroma had clear vimentin, synaptophysin, and Thyroid transcription factor-1 expression, but weak epithelial membrane antigen expression. Neither cell type expressed chromogranin-A.
