Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves for the parameter CRP (black line) in comparison to the combination of CRP and LDH (grey line) in discriminating melanoma patients entering AJCC stage IV from patients staying in stages I, II or III in follow-up examinations. The area under the curve (AUC) of CRP alone (0.933) is larger than the AUC of CRP in combination with LDH (0.913); still this difference was not statistically significant.
