Effect of curcumin administered p.o. daily at 150 (×) or 300 (◊) mg kg−1 in DMSO : PBS (1 : 1000), as previously used (Busquets et al, 2001), compared with DMSO : PBS (1 : 1000) alone (♦) on weight loss in mice bearing the MAC16 tumour over a 5 day period. There was a significant weight loss for all groups at day 5 (P<0.001), but there was no difference in weight loss between groups.
