Interleukin-8 is an autocrine growth factor in H460 and MOR/P cells. (A) Non-small cell lung cancer cells were treated with rIL-8 (at a concentration of 0, 1, 10 and 100 ng ml−1) for 48 h. Cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay. Each point is the mean±s.e. of three determinations from two independent experiments. (B) Non-small cell lung cancer cells were treated with anti-IL-8 neutralising antibody (1 or 10 μg ml−1) for 48 h. Cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay. Each bar is the mean±s.e. of three determinations from two independent experiments. *P<0.05.
