Representative hybridisation blots for the expression of Rad51 mRNA (A) and protein (B) in NSCLC cell lines are shown. Different amounts of total RNA (5–20 μg) and protein (40 μg) for each exponentially growing cell line were loaded onto the gel and hybridised with DNA probes or antibodies targeting Rad51 and β-actin. Data were normalised to the β-actin signal to correct for gel loading and differences in overall mRNA and protein expression. (C) Mean values±s.e.m. of at least three independent experiments for the relative level of Rad51 expression in NSCLC cell lines under exponential and plateau phase growth conditions are shown.
