Representative hybridisation blots for the effect of As-Rad51 on the expression of Rad51 mRNA (A) and Rad51 protein (B) are shown. Cells were transfected for 24 h with lipofectamin only (L), UR ODN and As-ODN targeting Rad51 (As-rad51). As-p21 targeting p21waf1/cip1 (Sak et al, 2003) was used to show the specificity of the ODN used. Data were normalised to the β-actin signal to correct for gel loading and differences in overall gene expression.
