  1. EROD=ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase; ND=not detectable.
  2. After addition of 7-ethoxy resorufin, cells were incubated at 37°C for 40 min. Samples were removed and spun down, and the amount of resorufin present in the supernatant determined by fluorescence (530 nm excitation; 590 nm emission). Results represent the average of five independent experiments. Activity is expressed as picomoles resorufin per mg of total protein per min.
