Impact of fibroblast growth factor receptor 3b (FGFR3b) knockdown on growth and viability. (A) Small interfering RNA (siRNA) directed against FGFR3-IIIb was introduced into HCT116 cells by lipofection, and RNA (left panel) and protein level (right panel) were assessed 48 h later. (B) For determination of growth and viability, cells were plated in two-well plates at 2 × 103 cells per well and siRNA was delivered 48 h before cell viability was determined as described in the Materials and methods section. (C) DNA synthesis was measured by 3H-thymidine incorporation. All data represent the pooled results of at least three independent experiments and no statistically significant effect could be detected. ## indicates a decrease as compared with control at P<0.05 (Student's t-test).
