Diagram of the 5S rDNA cluster in Acipenser sturio and location of primers used for PCR amplification and sequencing (5SF–5SR and NTSF–NTSR). Fragment A was used as the 5S probe for in situ hybridization. Alignment of fragments A and B yielded the complete 221-bp sequence of the 5S gene. Primer sequences (or their complementary sequences) are reported in lower case.
