Amino acid sequences for a portion of the ligand-binding domain of TRα and TRβ from human (TRAH and TRBH), Ambystoma mexicanum (TRAATIG and TRBATIG), Ambystoma tigrinum tigrinum (TRAATIG and TRBATIG), Proteus anguinus (TRAPRO and TRBPRO), Necturus maculosus (TRBNEC) (Safi et al., 1997), and the 4 TRα and 3 TRβ sequences that were identified in this study. The stars correspond to hydrophobic amino acids that are implicated in receptor dimerization (Forman and Samuels, 1990).
