(b) The schematic representation of the charging process: (I) only O2 gas evolves, which is attributed to the delithiation of Li2O2 to form LiO2-like species and subsequent bulk oxidation. (II) CO2 started to evolve, assigned to the decomposition of by-products and accompanied by the oxidation of Li2O2.
