Effects of edelfosine, EGTA, and PTX on the αLA-induced Ca2+ response in human colon epithelial cells. (A and C) are the representative Ca2+ traces in HCT116 cells and HT-29 cells, respectively. The cells were pretreated with vehicle, edelfosine (10 μmol/L, 6 h), EGTA (5 mmol/L, 1 min) or PTX (100 ng/mL, 24 h), and then treated with 100 μmol/L of αLA. Percentages of the αLA-induced Ca2+ response compared with digitonin are shown in (B) and (D). The data are presented as the mean±SEM of 3 independent experiments. bP<0.05 versus non-treated cells.
