Analysis of the expression of 276 MSC immune-related genes by 112 melanoma samples. Among the immune-related genes whose expression changed in MSCs co-cultured with activated TIL, 276 genes were identified and the expression of these genes was analysed among 112 melanoma samples. (A) Hierarchical clustering analysis showed that the 276 genes separated the melanoma tissues into the three previously described phenotypes: TARA Class A, Class B, and Class C. The Class A and Class B genes that characterise these phenotypes are highlighted in the figure and are listed in Supplementary Tables 3 and 4. (B) Analysis of the expression of the CXCR3 ligands, CXCL9, CXCL10 and CXCL11, and IDO1 among the 112 melanoma samples shows that these factors were co-expressed.
