Differential regulation of Bcl-2 family mRNA expression during involution. qRT-PCR analysis was performed on RNA samples extracted from C57BL/6 mammary glands isolated after 12 days of lactation (day 0) or 1, 2, 3 or 4 days of involution triggered by forced weaning. Symbols represent means ±S.E. of n=3–4 individual specimens per time point analysed. Expression levels of the indicated target mRNAs were normalized to actin and relative expression on day 0 (i.e., 12 days of lactation) was set to 1.0. Statistically significant differences between day 0 and day 2, day 3 or day 4 of involution, as assessed by paired Student's t-test (P<0.05) are indicated by * for Bim, $ for Bmf and § for Bad
