  1. Apoptosis of testicular germ cells was determined by TUNEL assay. The number of seminiferous tubules containing 1, 2 or >2 apoptotic spermatogonia per weaning the total number of tubules was defined as the apoptotic rate of 1 site, 2 sites or >2 sites, respectively. The total number of tubules containing apoptotic spermatogonia per weaning the total number of tubules of the specimen was defined as the total apoptotic rate. Data are shown as mean±S.E.M.
