  1. Cells were pretreated with pepstatin A (10 μM) at 1 h before β−hPrP90-231 (1 μM). Cell viability was measured by MTT reduction assay, and the extent of apoptosis was detected using cytosolic oligonucleosome ELISA
  2. Data were expressed as percentage of PBS-treated control cells and represents the average of three independent experiments performed in quadruplicate
