(a) High levels of plasma membrane-localised S1P1 expression correlate significantly with a low apoptosis score (P=0.044). (b) High levels of plasma membrane-localised S1P1 expression are significantly associated with elevated levels of both cytoplasmic (P=0.038) and nuclear (P=0.0001) active phospho-Ser338 Raf-1. (c) High levels of phosphorylated ERK1,2 are significantly associated with elevated levels of active phospho-Ser338 Raf-1 in both the cytoplasm (P=0.004) and nucleus (P=0.007). (d) High levels of phosphorylated ERK1,2 in the nucleus are significantly associated with a low apoptosis score (P=0.012)
