Bim expression was increased in the retina of diabetic mice. (a) Retinal frozen sections were prepared from wild-type and Akita/+ mice. Double immunofluorescence staining was performed for PDGFR-β and Bim. Arrowheads indicate Bim- and PDGFR-β-positive cells in the superficial layer of retina. Bar indicates 20 μm. (b) Expression of Bim in the retina of wild-type and Akita/+ mice was examined by western blot analysis. The antibody to β-catenin was used for loading control. (c) Quantification of band intensity in western blots (n≥4; *P≤0.05 (wild type versus Akita/+))
