The microglial character was changed in Tg2576 mice brains. (a) Amyloid plaques and microglial cells in cortex and hippocampal regions were detected by the double staining of thioflavin S and IbaI antibodies. Microglial cells were gathered around the plaques. (b and c) The level of IL-1β or IL-10 was detected in the tissue lysates of cortical region of brain from each group by ELISA. IL-1β, representative inflammatory cytokine, was increased in Tg-sham group but reduced by NSC transplantation (b). By contrast to IL-1β, IL-10, representative anti-inflammatory cytokine, was increased by NSC transplantation (c). *P<0.05, by one-way ANOVA
