Pdcd4 deficiency suppressed macrophage conversion into foam cells in an autophagy-dependent manner. Cells were stimulated by 50 μg/ml ox-LDL in starvation condition (EBSS) or in the presence of rapamycin, 3-MA, wortmannin and pepstatin A plus E64d for 24 h, and then cells were stained by oil red O.
