SP6616 promotes insulin secretion and β-cell mass in type 2 diabetic model mice. Fasting serum insulin level was detected by AlphaLISA insulin kit in (a) HFD/STZ (b) db/db mice after the animals were killed (n=8). Morphology (HE staining) and insulin immunohistochemistry (IHC) of pancreatic β cells in (c) HFD/STZ and (d) db/db mice were examined after SP6616 (50 mg/kg/day) treatment for 5 weeks.
