GUTK inhibits the growth of quiescent prostate cancer cells in vivo. Quiescent PC-3 cells were inoculated subcutaneously into the left flank of male nude mice. Mice received a daily intraperitoneal injection of GUTK (10 mg/kg), which begun one day prior to injection of the PC-3 cells (day 1) and continued for 34 days. Tumor volume (a) and body weight (b) of the animals were measured every day and expressed as mean±S.D. *P<0.05, **P<0.01 compared with the vehicle. At day 35, mice were killed and the tumors were resected, photographed (c) and weighed (d).
