The mRNA expression of glutamate transporters and glutamate uptake in the synaptosome are decreased in MPTP-treated mice. Midbrain and striatum tissue were prepared from 3d, 5+1d and 5+3d groups of mice. (a–f) qPCR analysis showing that GLT-1 mRNA expression is increased in the 3d group (e). (g–l) qPCR analysis showing that GLT-1 mRNA expression was decreased in the 3d, 5+1d and 5+3d groups in the striatum (g, i and k).
