Inhibition of autophagy reduces OGD-induced release of cathepsin L in astrocytes. (a) The cells were treated with OGD for 3 h, and 3-MA (1 mM) or Wort (100 nM) was added in cells 30 min or 2 h before OGD, respectively. Then double immunofluorescence staining of cathepsin L (red) and Lamp 1 (green) was performed by corresponding antibodies. Hoechst (blue) was used to stain nuclei. Images were captured by a confocal microscopy. Magnified images (M) were cropped sections from the merge images (white borders).
