Effects of betulin on Nrf2 translocation, Keap1 and antioxidant enzyme expression. (a) RAW 264.7 cells were plated in six-well culture plates and treated with betulin (9, 18 and 36 μM) for 6 h. Nuclear and cytoplasmic extracts from RAW 264.7 cells were prepared for detecting Nrf2 and total protein extracts for detecting Keap1. (b) RAW 264.7 cells were treated with betulin (9, 18 and 36 μM) for 18 h and total protein extracts were prepared for detecting antioxidant enzymes. Quantifications were performed by densitometric analysis, and Lamin B and β-actin acted as an internal control. A representative western blot is shown in the left panel. Shown in the right panel are means±S.E.M. of three independent experiments. *P≤0.05, **P≤0.01 versus the control group
