(a) Proliferation rate of K562 cells measured by 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine incorporation 48 h after transfection with GFI1B siRNA, BCR–ABL siRNA and cotreatment with both siRNAs. After transfection with each siRNA, the proliferation rate of K562 cells decreased significantly (P<0.0001). Mean and s.d. are presented. (b) Apoptosis rate of K562 cells measured by terminal transferase deoxyuridine triphosphate nick-end labeling assay 48 h after transfection with GFI1B siRNA, BCR–ABL siRNA and cotreatment with both siRNAs. After transfection with each siRNA, the apoptotic rate of K562 cells increased significantly (P<0.0001). Mean and s.d. are presented.
