Lung cancer is broadly divided into small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) depending on the originator cell type. NSCLC accounts for approximately 85% of all lung cancers and is typically further divided into adenocarcinoma, large cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma histologies.
