Effect of siRNA molecules targeted at RAGE on phosphorylation of MAPK in RASMCs treated with AGEs. Western blot for ERK in AGEs-, siRNA-, or statin-treated RASMCs. For function-blocking experiments, siRNA molecules targeted at RAGE mRNA was used. There was no difference in ERK activation between both and individual treatment with statin and siRNA for RAGE. Symbols - and + indicate the absence and presence of AGEs, simvastatin, or siRNA, respectively.
