Effect of ethanol on the expression of P-AMPK and GLUT4 in vitro. Primary neonatal Wistar rat cardiomyocytes were prepared and incubated for 4 h in the presence of 100 mM ethanol. P-AMPKα protein (A), GLUT4 mRNA (B) and protein (C) were assayed by western blotting and RT-PCR, respectively. An association analyses were made between P-AMPKα protein and MEF2A (D) or MEF2D (E) mRNA, MEF2 (F) or P-AMPKα (G) protein and GLUT4 mRNA. **P < 0.01, *P < 0.05 compared with control group.
