Syringaresinol increases NO production via eNOS dimerization. (A) HUVECs were treated with syringaresinol in the presence or absence of U73122 and BAPTA-AM. Monomers and dimers of eNOS were determined by LT-PAGE and Western blot analysis. Boiled sample was used as control for eNOS monomer. (B) The relative ratios of eNOS dimer and monomer were quantitated using a densitometer. Data are the mean ± SD (n ≥ 3). **P < 0.01 versus control. (C) The levels of intracellular NO production were determined in HUVECs treated with or without syringaresinol and BAPTA-AM by the same method as described in Figure 2. Data are the mean ± SD (n ≥ 3). *P < 0.05 versus syringaresinol alone.
