Effects of adiponectin and IL-1β on the production of IL-6 and IL-8 in (a) endothelial cells and (b) osteoblasts. The cells were treated with adiponectin or IL-1β for 24 h. The culture supernatants were analyzed for IL-6 and IL-8 by ELISA. The data shown are representative of three independent experiments, and similar results were obtained from all three. Values are expressed as mean±s.e.m. *P<0.05 vs the untreated group, #P<0.05 vs the IL-1β-treated group.
