PYC abrogated LPS-induced foam cell formation. Human THP-1 monocytes were stimulated with the indicated doses of PYC prior to incubation with 10 μg ml−1 LPS. After exposure to oxidized LDL (CuoxLDL) for 10 h, Oil Red O staining was used to label the foam cells (a). The ratio CE/TC was introduced to assess the lipid accumulation (b).
