(b) Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that the shedding of cells from the mouse corneal surface gradually increased from days 2 to 10. The bar represents 100 μm. (c) High magnification of SEM showed that the density and length of the microvilli on the apical surface of the corneal epithelium gradually decreased after SD for 6 to 10 days.
