Analysis of a female patient sample heterozygous for a normal (29 repeats) and an expanded allele of 400–650 repeats allele by Southern blot. The figure shows the results from four fractions. Each peak is labeled with its name, size (base pairs), and height (RFU): FX is the FMR1 CGG repeat fragment; F2, control for Fraction 2; F3, control for Fraction 3; and LGR, control for Fraction 4. The CGG repeat fragment is present in both the first and fourth fractions; all three control fragments are present in their proper fractions.
