Genes with a significant differential expression in HSCR-NLBs versus control-NLBs. Heat maps were generated using DataAssist v3.0 software (Life Technologies) and represent the messenger RNA expression levels of seven genes that have a differential expression profile between (a) HSCR-NLBs and control-NLBs and (b) colon tissue from HSCR patients and that from controls. Genes were hierarchically clustered by Pearson correlation coefficient using average linkage. The color scale, representing ΔCt, is shown on the right side. Green indicates genes with relatively decreased expression, whereas red indicates genes with relatively increased expression. Ct, cycle threshold; HSCR, Hirschsprung disease; NLBs, neurosphere-like bodies.
