Different cases of QTL × E interactions and corresponding slope of Finlay–Wilkinson's regression. QT refers to the quantitative trait. SC and CO represent scale and crossover patterns of QTL × E interaction effects, respectively. Sym and disym correspond to symmetrical and dissymmetrical allelic effects at the given QTL position. All1 and All2 represent the reaction norms of individuals carrying one or the alternative allele at the given QTL. m1 and m2 are environmental phenotypic mean values. b11 and b12 are phenotypic values associated with allele 1 in environments 1 and 2, respectively. SLOPE1 is the slope of Finlay–Wilkinson's regression for individual carrying allele 1.
