Mean relative gene transcription (±1 s.e.m.) for seven genes using quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) in triploid and diploid Chinook salmon sham-injected with saline solution. Time zero fish were sampled before injection. All values are normalized to an endogenous control (EF-1a) and calibrated to time zero diploid control values. Significant differences (P<0.05) between diploid and triploid values at each time point are indicated by asterisks. Six fish (assayed in duplicate) were used for time zero and sham-injected qRT-PCR assays.
