Symbols correspond to s.e.=0, 0.027, 0.036 and 0.05, respectively, corresponding to L=infinite, 200, 100 and 50 (see Materials and methods for details). In (a), deviations from the horizontal dotted lines correspond to bias. In (b), polynomial curves were fitted to the plots to facilitate the reading of the figure.
