Comparative analysis showing the importance of six variables on the variation in non-surfing survival and surfing survival of the mutant. Estimates of importance are the result of analyses using boosted regression trees. The colour coding refers to the response curves, that is, how changing values of the variable influence values of the response. Response curves are classified to be either monotonous positive, monotonous negative or non-monotonous. Dd, density dependent.
