(a) Area under the receiver–operator characteristic curve (AUC) of toe–brachial index (TBI) and ankle–brachial index (ABI) for albuminuria defined as urinary albumin excretion equal to or more than 30 mg g−1 creatinine. We compared AUC (95% confidence interval (CI)) between the two groups using the ROCKIT. TBI vs. ABI, P=0.0002. (b) AUC of TBI and ABI for chronic kidney disease (CKD), defined as estimated glomerular filtration rate less than 60 ml min−1 per 1.73 m2.
